Name: Ayesha Dachuna
Job Title: Public Health Officer - South
Email Address: Ayesha.Da-Cunha@doncaster.gov.uk
My journey into public health began with a passion for physical activity and wellbeing. I started by studying physical activity at college and went on to completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Activity, Exercise and Health, which gave me a strong foundation in promoting healthy lifestyles. Alongside my studies, I gained practical experience through coaching, helping individuals achieve their fitness goals and encouraging active living.
I later transitioned into the care sector, working as a carer and then in a care home. These roles allowed me to meet incredible people, learn about the challenges they faced, and develop a compassionate approach to health and wellbeing. This experience, combined with my academic background, inspired me to pursue a career in public health, where I can bring together my knowledge, skills, and personal insights to make a meaningful impact. In my current role, as a Well Doncaster Officer I use my experience and tools to support communities, reduce health inequalities, and empower people to turn their goals into reality.
Fun Fact: I was the first youth cadet to fight in the World Championships in MMA for Team England in 2019.
What people appreciate about me: People often say I’m a good listener, caring and always have a smile on my face
What is important to me: My family’s happiness and health mean everything to me.
The thing I enjoy best about being part of Well Doncaster: Working with such a kind team, while seeing the positive impact we have on local communities.
